This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to all shovelers (“Contractors”) who use the Snow Scholars App, website, or communication systems operated by Snow Scholars, Inc., a Delaware corporation. By using the app, you agree to the data practices described below.

The Snow Scholars App collects data only as needed to operate and provide services to student shovelers:

Personal Information: Name, email, and phone number for account creation and communication.
Location Data: GPS location used only to verify route completion and dispatch accuracy.
Photos and Media: Camera access is used solely for uploading before-and-after job photos.
Payment Information: Bank routing and account numbers for direct deposits.
Device and Usage Data: Basic analytics, logs, and crash reports to improve app reliability.

2. How We Use This Information

We use the collected information to:

• Create and manage shoveler accounts

• Verify job completion and ensure route accuracy

• Process payments and bonuses

• Provide customer support and communication

• Improve app functionality and safety

Snow Scholars does not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services We Use

We securely share limited data with trusted vendors that support essential operations:

• Twilio: text message and phone verification

• SendGrid: email notifications

• Google Maps API: location and route display

• Square: payment processing

All vendors follow strict privacy and security standards consistent with data-protection laws.

4. Storage & Retention

Data is securely stored on DigitalOcean servers and Snow Scholars systems, accessible only to authorized staff. Operational and legal data may be retained for up to five (5) years, then deleted or anonymized unless required by law.

5. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion at any time.

How To Delete My Shoveler Account

You can have your account and information deleted immediately by submitting the form on our cancel shoveler account page found here. ​​​Your shoveler account and all associated data will be permanently deleted.

Data That Will Be Deleted

Upon account deletion, the following data will be permanently erased from our active systems:

• First and last name

• Email address

• Phone number

• Mailing address

• Routing and account number (used for direct deposit)

• Equipment details you provided (e.g., shovel, snowblower)

• Service locations while working

• Emergency contact information

• App access credentials and preferences

Data That May Be Retained

Certain information must be retained temporarily or permanently for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes, including:

• Payment and transaction history: kept for up to 90 days for accounting and audit purposes.

• Tax and financial records: retained for up to 7 years as required by federal law.

• Support communications: may be stored for up to 1 year to ensure compliance and quality assurance.

All retained data is securely stored and automatically purged once the retention period expires.

6. Children’s Privacy

The Snow Scholars App is not intended for users under 13 years of age, and no data is knowingly collected from minors.

7. Legal & Arbitration

This Policy is governed by Delaware law and subject to the Snow Scholars Arbitration Agreement.
All disputes will be resolved in Dover, Delaware.
